ABOUT REAL COUNTRY STATIONS (WLNA / WBNR)
WLNA, located on the AM radio dial at 1420 kHz, first signed on the air on December 22, 1948. It was a full service AM station broadcasting from Radio Terrace in the Town of Cortlandt with heavy emphasis on local news and community events. The station owner at the time was the Highland Broadcasting Company. The call letters stand for Local News Authority.
Highland Broadcasting Sold both WLNA and sister station WHUD to Radio Terrace, INC in 1982. In 1997, WLNA and WHUD were sold to Pamal Broadcasting.
Currently, the station’s format is REAL COUNTRY and is simulcast with WBNR and WGHQ as the REAL COUNTRY HUDSON VALLEY.
WBNR located on the AM radio dial at 1260 kHz is licensed to Beacon, New York and serving the mid-Hudson Valley.The call letters stand for Beacon-Newburgh Radio. The station is owned by Pamal Broadcasting and broadcasts on 1260 kHz at 1 kilowatt daytime and 480 watts nighttime, both directional, from a four-tower array located in the south part of city of Beacon .
Currently, the station’s format is REAL COUNTRY and is simulcast with WLNA and WGHQ, as well as 92.5 FM as REAL COUNTRY HUDSON VALLEY.
